Press Release of“Beijing Jingdiao Cup”Die & Mould Competition

To promote the craftsman spirit in society, speed up the training of highly skilled workers and talents, accelerate the construction of technical, knowledge and composite skill talents, and promote the integration of production and education in die & mould vocational schools. The preparation of the event was based on the construction of a skilled talent team, to create the core competitiveness of talents of key die & mould enterprises and colleges, and to support the high-quality development of the die & mould industry. According to the requirements of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China(MOHRSS) on Organizing the 2021 National Industry Vocational Skills Competition (MOHRSS notice No.37 [2021]), China Die & Mould Industry Association(CDMIA) utilized its advantages supporting industry, held the 19th National Machinery Industry Vocational Skills Competition (Die & mould) ("Beijing Jingdiao Cup" Die & mould Competition) in Ningbo from July 29 to 31, 2022 (Due to the epidemic, it had postponed from December 2021).

General Overview

This competition involves digital design CAD, simulation analysis CAE competition, and precision machining competition. The competition covers a wide range of fields, with advanced competition equipment.

"Beijing Jingdiao Cup" die & mould competition includes stamping die, injection mould and die casting die, covering 90% of all types of products in the industry. Injection mould and die casting die competitions are divided into two sub-groups: employee injection mould and employee die casting die. The stamping die competition consists of three sub-groups: stamping die (general direction-staff group), stamping die (body direction-staff group) and stamping die(teacher group). The competition schedule of each group has three parts, including theory competition, CAD/CAE and machining practice. The content of the competition corresponds to the relevant vocational positions or job groups, reflecting the core competence and knowledge of the occupation. It also covers a wealth of professional knowledge and skills. Under systematic organization to the precise implementation, the competition of digital design, simulation analysis and precision machining were carried out at the same time. The theoretical examination involves system integration, industrial chain coordination and a wide range of related knowledge in the manufacturing field. The processing competition adopts advanced equipment that matches the application of high-end enterprises.

The content of the theory examination includes digitalization and basic compatibility, focusing on the application of digital technology, highlighting the examination of the skills required by the contestants' design and development, data acquisition, and process digital analysis technology. At the same time, the examination also involves the application of precision equipment and fixtures, materials and other aspects of knowledge.

In the competition, digital design, simulation analysis and precision machining competition of stamping die, die casting die and injection mould were carried out at the same time. As the main examination software, domestic software supported the competition with top-level machining equipment, attracting the attention of the whole die & mould industry.

The content of the competition is both advanced and comprehensive. Involving design, simulation analysis, the whole process of processing, covering data acquisition, data processing, die & mould intelligent design CAD, CAM process data processing, CAE simulation analysis, die & mould numerical control machining, die & mould electrical machining, as well as collaborative manufacturing and other aspects of professional knowledge and skills. Through the relevant technology and application scenarios, the contestants' knowledge, technical skills, professionalism and teamwork ability were comprehensively tested.

During the preparation and holding, the competition was fully supported by the Ningbo government and relevant departments, especially by the Ningbo Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, which is in charge of the die & mould industry. It was fully guaranteed by the title supporting unit and joint undertaking unit -- Beijing JINGDIAO Technology Group. We have received special support from MAKINO(China) which is the world's top machining equipment supplier, and professional and all-around assistance from Ningbo POLYTECHNIC(Yangming College), the joint organizer. The competition venue is located in the Ningbo Precision factory of Beijing JINGDIAO Group, one of the leaders of China's precision equipment in Ningbo Qianwan New Area which has a strong international manufacturing atmosphere, and Ningbo POLYTECHNIC(Yangming College), the leader of school-enterprise cooperation in the integration of die & mould production and education in Ningbo Yuyao.

Ningbo Qianwan New Area is a state-level economic and technological development zone, as well as Shanghai-Ningbo Cooperation Demonstration Zone, Zhejiang-Shanghai Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and high-level demonstration zone around Hangzhou Bay Bay Area. It is the intersection point of the three national strategies superposition - "The Belt and Road Initiative", the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta. As a national export processing zone and Zhejiang provincial high-tech industrial park, Ningbo Qianwan New Area has six advanced industries, including Geely AUTO, Bosch and other automobiles and their key parts industry, general aviation industry, smart TV and smart terminal industry, high-performance new materials industry, life and health industry, and high-end equipment manufacturing industry. The competition is arranged to be held in the large market of die & mould applications, which plays a positive role in enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain.

The players in the die & mould competition are from the top die & mould enterprises, and the specifications of the participating enterprises are at a high level.

Received the response from a great amount of die & mould enterprises, the employees of FAW TD, FAW-Volkswagen, Cac-citc, Changan Automobile Group, ZHENYU Technology, Shiyan Xianfeng, Dalian Shentong and other enterprises participated in the stamping die competition, Ningbo Heli Technology, Zhejiang Huiwang, Tianzheng Mould, KYORITSU SEIKI(DALIAN),Guangzhou Section, Chongqing Dongke, Ningbo Lijin formed a strong die casting die competition team. Top mould enterprises such as HAIMU ZHIYUN, Hisense Mould, BASIS, Kaihua, Chengdu Aerospace Mould & Plastic, Chengdu HOMIN Technology, Gree-Mould participated in the competition of plastic mould, highlighting the talent ability and technical strength of the industry. Ningbo Sunny Precision, Beilong Precision Technology, FANGZHENG TOOL, Ninghai First-Rate Injection mould and other outstanding enterprises are also actively competing, which also shows the strong core force of Ningbo die & mould cluster.

To hold high-standard and high-level events, the organizing committee of the  Competition and the competition executive Committee set up the technical committee and competition work committee and held coordination meetings many times to ensure the implementation of all work. From the preparation of the competition scheme to the formulation of the implementation plan, the drafting and issuance of documents, from the theoretical and practical test questions to the contestant registration training, from the competition venue, competition support unit selection and implementation, from the event publicity, industry publicity, to the opening ceremony arrangement, reception, accommodation and other aspects of careful planning, careful deployment and implementation.

To ensure the fairness, justice and openness of the competition, the Organizing Committee organized a work referee and supervisory arbitration committee composed of experienced and skilled senior experts to ensure that the competition procedure was strict and in line with the standards.

Commercialization of Die & Mould Competition Results 

Promote the commercialization of competition results while improving the quality of future competition. Through the "Beijing JINDIAO Cup" die & mould competition guide, question bank and training guide that has been published on the official website of CDMIA,  the transformation work of vocational education textbooks will be carried out in the later stage, to achieve the talent quality improvement effect of promoting learning, training, evaluation and construction through competition.

The results of the competition will be transformed into the knowledge and technical data bank of die & mould skills training. According to the theoretical knowledge and a technical question bank of the "Beijing Jingdiao Cup" die & mould competition, CDMIA is preparing the reference books for die & mould professional vocational education, which will be published jointly by CDMIA and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press, to continuously promote the organic combination of industrial development and professional talent training. Relying on the results of the competition, CDMIA actively promotes the formulation of competition specifications, guidelines and other standards, and promotes the ability of talents with the standardization of die & mould talent training.

Create Industry Talent to Promote Enterprise Leadership

After the approval of the MOHRSS, the top three players in the final comprehensive performance of "The Beijing Jingdiao Cup" Die & mould Competition will be awarded the title of "National Technical Expert" and awarded medals and certificates. Players with the first comprehensive performance and meeting the relevant conditions will be recommended to participate in the "May 1st Labor Medal" by CDMIA according to the procedures, and are eligible to apply for the national Skill Master Studio, provincial and municipal skill Master studio construction projects.

CDMIA will promote the construction of enterprise skills and talent studios. Enterprises belonging to the winners with qualified results in the final and ranking within 1/2 of the number of participants (teams) will be identified as enterprise skill master studios in the corresponding industry direction. The enterprises of the outstanding award winners who have qualified in the final and are ranked at least 1/2 of the number of participants (teams) will be identified as the enterprise skill talent studio in the corresponding industry direction. Help die & mould enterprises to build a solid theory, skilled, stable and long-term talent team, to lay a solid foundation for enterprises to achieve long-term development.

"Beijing Jingdiao Cup" Die & Mould Competition is also the Event of Professional Exchange

As a big event in the die & mould industry, the "Beijing Jingdiao Cup" die & mould competition has been widely concerned by the upstream and downstream industries. In the opening ceremony of the competition, the publicity video of the Ningbo die & mould industry was launched, and the exhibition wall of Chinese die & mould industry talents was built. CDMIA also arranged for enterprises to observe the "Beijing Jingdiao Cup" die & mould competition.
